Abecean Longfin
The Abacean Longfin is a medium-sized fished commonly found in the ponds, lakes, and rivers of Skyrim, often hunting its favorite prey, the dragonfly.  The fish itself is a dark grey, with bulbous eyes, a thin mouth oddly enough set higher than the eyes, and a large caudal fin that lacks the typical indentation found in most other fish.  The dorsal fin is a small, thin ridge along the fish's back, while the pelvic fins are also short.  The most unusual characteristic about the Abacean Longfin is a third pelvic fin, easily twice as long as the primary pelvic fins, and centered between them.  It is this fin that gives this fish its name, although it has been theorized by several scholars that this third fin is actually an abnormal growth of the anal fin, a fin generally found closer to the tail that the Abacean Longfin lacks.

Although no one remembers why, the portion of the fish that is used exclusively for alchemy is referred to as Abecean, rather than the proper spelling of Abacean, and is pronounced slightly differently.  This may be due to the variety of uses for the fish, from meals to potions, in order to specify what the speaker is discussing. The scales are the only useful portion of the fish.  Once they have been removed, the remainder of the fish can be discarded or cooked, and the scales themselves added to the potion or poison.

The primary effect of the Abecean Longfin is a Weakness to Frost.
The secondary effect of the Abecean Longfin is a Fortification to Stealth.
The tertiary effect of the Abecean Longfin is a Weakness to Poison.
The quaternary effect of the Abecean Longfin is a Fortification to the School of Restoration.

The Abecean Longfin can be mixed with the following ingredients:
Beehive Husk, Bleeding Crown, Chaurus Eggs, Cyrodilic Spadetail, Deathbell, Elves Ear, Fire Salts, Frost Mirriam, Giant Lichen, Hawk Feathers, Human Flesh, Ice Wraith Teeth, Pine Thrush Egg, Powdered Mammoth Tusk, Purple Mountain Flower, Sabre Cat Tooth, Salt Pile, Small Antlers, Small Pearl, White Cap

Bear Claws
Skyrim is a variable and dangerous place, and one of the most dangerous creatures that can be encountered is the bear.  Bears in Skyrim come in three known varieties.  The Brown Bear, the most common variety, is a large creature with a dark brown pelt.  The Cave Bear is uncommon in the wild, rarely leaving the depths of their caves except to hunt, and is discerned from the Brown Bear by its lighter colored pelt.  The rarest variety, as well as the most feared, is the Snow Bear, found only at higher elevations and easily recognizable by its beautiful white coat.  However, like many animals in Skyrim, bears are also known to be carriers of disease, specifically Bone Break Fever, which severely diminishes the strength of whomever is unlucky enough to catch it.  Incidentally, the negative effects of Bone Break Fever can be countered somewhat by the alchemical properties of the bear's claws.

While each of these three magnificent creatures is as deadly as they are beautiful, their claws are prized by alchemists all over Tamriel.  Each bear paw has five claws, allowing for as many as twenty useable claws to be harvested from a single bear.  The claws come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but are usually yellowish, long, and sharp.  For proper use, the claws should be ground into a fine powder, then mixed with water to create a sticky paste.

The primary effect of Bear Claws is a Restoration of Stamia.  It should also be noted that this effect only lasts eighty percent as long as other ingredients that provide the same effect.
The secondary effect of Bear Claws is a Fortification to Health.
The tertiary effect of Bear Claws is Fortification to Use of One-Handed Weapons.
The quaternary of Bear Claws is Damage to the Regeneration of Magicka.

Bear Claws can be mixed with the following ingredients:
Bee, Blue Butterfly Wing, Blue Mountain Flower, Canis Root, Charred Skeever Hide, Chicken Egg, Sabre Cat Eye, Giant's Toe, Glow Dust, Glowing Mushroom, Hanging Moss, Hawk Beak, Hawk Feathers, Histcarp, Honeycomb, Human Heart, Large Antlers, Mudcrab Chitin, Nightshade, Orange Dartwing, Pearl, Pine thrush Egg, Powdered Mammoth Tusk, Purple Mountain Flower, Rock Warbler Egg, Sabre Cat Tooth, Silverside Perch, Small Pearl, Spider Egg, Spriggan Sap, Torchbug Thorax, Wheat, Wisp Wrappings

Bee
Feared across Skyrim almost as much as, if not moreso, than the deadly bear, the bee is a formidable creature that knows neither fear nor pain.  Capable of flight at speeds even the fastest horse would envy, more agile than a serpent, and as relentless as a storm, the bee will attack any who come close, whether they were heavy armor, no armor, or are Alduin himself.

A common insect found throughout the warmer regions of Skyrim, bees are actually quite passive and will only attack if they feel their hive is threatened, in which case they will swam the aggressor in large numbers, attacking with annoying, but harmless, barbs.  They are easily distinguished by their bright yellow color, offset by black, and the irritating buzzing sound they make when they fly.  One distinct trait about bees is that not only are they useful for alchemy, but they are directly responsibly for the creation of several other alchemical ingredients.  It is for this reason that many alchemists choose to raise bees to create these other ingredients rather than using the bees themselves.  It is noted, however, that in the colder seasons, entire colonies of bees die off with the exception of their queen, who creates a new colony when the weather warms again.  This can result in a treasure trove of self-sustaining alchemical ingredients.

When using a bee in alchemy, there are a few ways to get good results.  The wings are useful, as is the mild poison that is held in a small sac just behind the barb.  In addition, the bee can be crushed so its blood oozes out, and then entirety mixed into a potion or poison.

The primary effect of the bee is a Restoration of Stamina.
The secondary effect of the bee is Damage of Stamina, Ravage level.
The tertiary effect of the bee is a Regeneration of Stamina.
The quaternary effect of the bee is a Weakness to Shock.

Bees can be mixed with the following ingredients:
Bear Claws, Bone Meal, Charred Skeever Hide, Deathbell, Sabre Cat Eye, Fly Amanita, Giant Lichen, Hagraven Feathers, Hawk Beak, Histcarp, Honecomb, Large Antlers, Mora Tapinella, Mudcrab Chitin, Orange Dartwing, Pearl, Pine Thrush Egg, Powdered Mammoth Tusk, Purple Mountain Flower, Sabre Cat Tooth, Scale Phoilota, Silverside Perch, Small Pearl, Thistle Branch, Torchbug Thorax, Void Salts, Wisp Wrappings
